Welcome Our New Director of Outreach

We’re excited to welcome Ashley Geen to the Empower Mississippi team as our new Outreach Director.
In this role, Ashley will lead our efforts to connect with individuals most impacted by public policy in education, work, and criminal justice. Her work will focus on elevating community voices and ensuring those directly affected have a platform in the conversations that shape Mississippi’s future.
Ashley Green previously served as Principal at Gary Road Intermediate School in Hinds County and at Heidelberg Junior High School in Jasper County. She also held the role of Curriculum Coordinator during her time in Hinds County and has worked as an educational consultant, supporting schools and communities in achieving their academic and leadership goals.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Alcorn State University and a master’s degree in Psychology from William Carey University. She also completed the Mississippi Alternate Path to Quality School Leadership program.
Ashley is married to Milton Green, and together they have three children: Kiersten, Lauren, and Milton. The family resides in Richland, Mississippi, and are active members of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Hattiesburg.
In her free time, Ashley enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and shopping. She is passionate about working with various community organizations and helping others reach their highest potential.
“I’m thrilled to be joining Empower Mississippi,” Ashley says. “Their mission to create real opportunities for Mississippians, from education to workforce and criminal justice reform, reflects the kind of meaningful change I’m passionate about.”
