
Dr. Patrick Miller
Dr. Miller is the Vice President of Development at Empower Mississippi, where he leads the development team and oversees all fundraising and stewardship initiatives.
A seasoned professional with a deep-rooted commitment to Mississippi, Dr. Miller brings a wealth of experience in institutional advancement, educational leadership, and community development to his role. His career spans higher education, secondary education, and elected office. He holds bachelor’s, master’s, and educational specialist degrees in education and public policy and administration from Mississippi State University and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership. In recognition of his outstanding academics as a graduate student in public administration, he is an inducted member of the Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society.
Before joining Empower Mississippi, Dr. Miller was the Director of Advancement at St. Patrick Catholic High School. In that role, he successfully built donor relationships and oversaw alumni engagement, admissions, and communications. Earlier in his career, he held positions as an Instructor at Mississippi State University and as the Director of the Mississippi Institute of Municipal Clerks. In those roles, he taught and helped develop educational programs for local governments.
A committed community member, Dr. Miller has held various leadership positions, including being elected as Alderman for the city of Starkville and a Starkville Planning and Zoning Commission member. He has previously served on the board of Starkville Main Street and the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce and as the Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Mississippi Beta Chapter of Phi Delta Theta.
In 2016, he received the Mississippi State University Extension Customer Outreach Award for significant contributions to outstanding programming. In 2018, he was honored as a Rising Star Under 35 by the Greater Starkville Development Partnership.
Dr. Miller and his wife, Caroline, live in Ocean Springs with their daughters, Olivia and Elouise. They are members of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
